Hi Everyone! My name is Caylee. My dad is a helicopter pilot and has been all of my life. I grew up around aviation and always new I wanted to be a pilot. In fact everyone around me knew I wanted to be a pilot. Next to my Kindergarten year book picture it says, "When I grow up I want to be a pilot." I made it pretty obvious.

I've always been drawn to the skies and the travel and adventure that aviation makes possible. There is something so exciting about barreling down the runway and lifting off...everything seems possible at that exact moment. I often remember watching planes overhead wondering who the people were on board, where they were going and why. The fact is that everyone has a unique travel story on that plane and though they may be landing at the same airport, their lives will go in many different directions.

This blog is inspired by the idea that the one mile of runway you depart from can take you literally anywhere in the world to many different and exciting adventures. This blog will document my flight training and the adventures that aviation and flying take me on. I can't wait to see where one mile of runway takes me!
